107 Brown St, Athens, TN

Description of 107 Brown St, Athens - MLS# 3598145

Some homes are renovated. Others are thoughtfully restored. And 107 Brown Street is one of those rare places where the difference is immediately felt. Step through the garden gate and into a beautifully reimagined 1935 cottage where historic character, inspired design and modern updates come together effortlessly. The interior designer-owner has poured her creativity and countless hours of hands on work into bringing this home back to life. Original 1935 wood floors and walls have been lovingly restored, while carefully chosen updates complement the character of the home. The kitchen features new cabinetry, and a former closet has been transformed into a charming butler's pantry. Throughout the house, collected finishes, natural textures and thoughtful design create rooms that feel layered and personal rather than simply remodeled. Just as much attention has been given to what you don't see. Significant improvements include the metal roof, HVAC, supply plumbing and foundation, along with a whole house water filtration system and on demand water heater. And then there are the gardens. Outside, the property unfolds into a series of intimate spaces filled with mature plantings, flowering gardens, climbing vines and inviting places to linger. A greenhouse, chicken coop and storage shed add function to the beauty, while covered outdoor living spaces create the feeling of a private retreat. It's part cottage garden, part in town homestead, and entirely its own. This is a home that has been cared for as much as it has been designed; a lovingly restored 1935 cottage with a story, a soul and a lifestyle all its own.
