Nolensville Real Estate Market
The first thing people hear about Nolensville is that it has quite a history. Named after William Nolen, who founded the town in 1797, it began as 26 lots. Local lore says that Nolen and his family were traveling through Tennessee when their wagon collapsed. While it was being repaired, he checked out the area and decided there was no reason to travel farther.
In the past 20 years, considerable residential real estate has been built to accommodate Nolensville's rapid population growth. Among new home developments are Silver Stream, Ballenger Farms, Bent Creek, Burkett Place, Winterset Woods, and Summerlyn.
Most homes for sale are detached residences, though condominiums and townhouses are also available. Homebuyers can expect a median house price of $293,500, a figure that has jumped by more than 71 percent since 2000.
Homeowners occupy residences with a median construction date of 2003. Many listings fall between $250,000 and $450,000. However, new construction in one subdivision carries home prices in the neighborhood of $600,000 for 3,700 square feet.
Newcomers planning to buy a home in Nolensville will see a variety of architectural styles. The most common are two-story contemporary and traditional homes. Many feature brick or stone. One section of Nolensville contains historic properties dating to the 19th century. Some are still used as stores, residences, or both.
